Family Sphyrnidae

Hammerheads and their smaller relatives, the bonnet heads, are found in all tropical seas. They are characterised by their "hammer" shape heads with their eyes at the sides of the "hammer". They range in size from just on 3 feet (nearly a meter) to nearly 20 feet (6 m). Like most sharks they are currently endangered.
